Install CALEFFI CODE®

Where is it best to place the Gateway and sensors? Should there be a maximum distance between the devices?

The maximum distance depends on the structure and obstacles between the devices. It is advisable to place the Gateway in a central area of the flat (in an area with a good Wi-Fi signal if you will be using this type of connection). The sensors must be wall-mounted, in an area not exposed to heat sources such as direct sunlight, not above the radiators but at least 1 metre away from them, and should not be placed on any shelves covering the radiator.

Can I use the CALEFFI CODE® system to replace the old thermostat of an independent heating system even without installing the controls on the radiators?

Yes, to replace the old thermostat, the Sensor PRO (code 215002/215002 BLK) with the Gateway (code 215100/215100 BLK) or the Gateway PRO (code 215015/215015 BLK) can be used without installing the controls on the radiator. Naturally, without Comfort Controls, you will not have the benefits of modulating regulation, which would ensure greater efficiency and, as a result, greater energy savings.

Can a Sensor PRO code 215002/215002 BLK be installed inside the boiler room, using it only as an ON/OFF contact?

Yes, after having installed the Comfort Control electronic controls via the dedicated CALEFFI CODE® app, proceed to install the Sensor PRO temperature sensor with boiler contact. A zone exclusively dedicated to the Sensor PRO can be installed, in which case its function will simply be to manage an ON/OFF contact. In the zone dedicated to the sensor, you will need to set weekly programming at a low temperature and enable the “Forced OFF” zone function to exclude the room from any temperature variation requests that may be made in the future. You will then need to set up the Sensor PRO to manage the zones you want it to manage by using the BOILER SETTINGS section of the app. The zones linked to this contact will have control over switching the Sensor PRO contact ON/OFF.

How should I proceed to install a Sensor PRO ambient temperature sensor with boiler contact, code 215002/215002 BLK, in a specific zone?

After having installed the Comfort Control electronic controls via the dedicated CALEFFI CODE® app, proceed to install the Sensor PRO temperature sensor with boiler contact. In this case, the Sensor PRO is used both as a boiler contact and as an ambient temperature sensor, and must therefore be installed in the zone where you wish to control the ambient temperature. Set up the Sensor PRO to manage the zones you want it to manage by using the BOILER SETTINGS section of the app. The zones linked to this contact will have control over switching the Sensor PRO contact ON/OFF. The zone where the Sensor PRO is installed is already linked to the sensor by default.

Can the CALEFFI CODE® system be integrated into an existing home automation system?

Naturally, the Caleffi CODE® system is set up to interface with BACS (Building Automation and Control Systems), using the MODBUS-RTU connection present in Gateway PRO (code 215015 /215015 BLK).
